About Us
Los Angeles County’s criminal justice system – serving the largest county in the nation – is as vast and complex as typical statewide structures. Recognizing this complexity, the Board of Supervisors established the Countywide Criminal Justice Coordination Committee (CCJCC) in 1981 to strengthen interagency communication, cooperation, and coordination and to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the justice system.
Ensuring CCJCC transcends traditional agency lines and addresses issues from a systemwide perspective, members include representatives from county, city, state, and federal agencies working in public safety, government, health, and education fields. Reflecting the Board’s leadership, the committee is chaired by the Chair of the Board & is staffed by a full-time executive director & professional staff.
Since its creation, CCJCC has gained state and national recognition as a model for interagency collaboration. It is an established part of the local justice environment and has been able to lead multi-agency responses to significant countywide justice issues throughout its history.
In January 2025, the Board established a CCJCC Executive Committee to enhance the overall structure of the committee. The 17-member Executive Committee – drawn from the membership of the full committee – guides the CCJCC’s overall work, priorities, and agenda. Bylaws for CCJCC’s Executive Committee & General Committee are available below.
