Countywide Warrant System (CWS) Steering Committee

The Countywide Warrant System (CWS) was designed to provide accurate warrant information to justice agencies in a timely and effective fashion. The system, which contains 1.4 million warrants, is aging, poses maintenance issues and needs to be updated with modern technology.

To address this need, CCJCC created a CWS Steering Committee in September 2008 to:

    • fully evaluate the current Countywide Warrant System;

    • determine if CWS should be enhanced and how;

    • provide governance over the CWS enhancement process; and

    • identify a funding source for new CWS technology.

The CWS Subcommittee includes members from the California Highway Patrol, Information Systems Advisory Body, Los Angeles County Police Chiefs Association, Los Angeles Police Department, Probation Department, Sheriff’s Department, and the Superior Court.
