Blue Ribbon Commission

On August 15, 2017, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors voted to create a Blue Ribbon Commission on Public Safety. The Commission was tasked with two primary goals: conducting a robust analysis of strategies, challenges, and opportunities presented by recent criminal justice reforms and ensuring that those in County care, custody, and supervision are provided meaningful rehabilitative services in order to restore live and promote public safety.

Comprised of experts in the fields of law and justice, public safety, rehabilitation and reentry services, and community engagement, the Blue Ribbon Commission on Public Safety will meet regularly over the coming year to conduct its work and provide recommendations to the Board.

Beginning in January 2018, the Blue Ribbon Commission will have regularly scheduled meetings on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 1:30 p.m., with agendas posted below.
